Thanksgiving 2010

It was a really great Thanksgiving this year. We celebrated an early Thanksgiving on the 20th of November with Ryan's family and then my parents came for thanksgiving this year. We did a little shopping, decorating and of course eating.... and still are eating leftovers.
 I love just hanging out and relaxing  and enjoying family time.
Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving this year.

1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal?

The stuffing. I love it and could just eat that.






2. Are you a host or a guest for Thanksgiving this year?

Normally I am a guest ,but my parents came this year and  I am hosting.




3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind?

Lounging around and getting into comfy clothes and just visiting family. I also start getting Christmas stuff together and start shopping online.






4. You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat one...do you choose pumpkin or pecan?

  Pumpkins hands down. Not a pecan fan





5. Are you a Black Friday Shopper?

Depends on the year. If there is something I really need and it is on sale, Iwill go,but for the most part I will do black Friday online in my warmth of my house. It depends if I want to fight the crowds or not. This year since I have a 2 month old I opted out.

So it is Tuesday and I am just now doing the weekend recap. Busy, busy.

  On Sat Morning we got up early and headed to Milan Missouri to have Thanksgiving with Ryan's side of the family.

It was a great time to just visit and eat Yummy food.

The kids always enjoy going there because it is a farm and theylove to ride the 4 wheelers with their uncle Shane or daddy. They also enjoyed playing with their cousins Delaney and Ryley.

On Sunday it was Ryan's grandfathers 92nd birthday so we were celebrating that also. AMAZING that he is still going strong.

I love the holidays just to visit and relax and have fun.

 It was a great time.

On Sunday we went to church and heard an great sermon and then ran some errands. I went to the store(which I loath) to grocery shop.

Sunday night we enjoyed our time as a family and got ready for the short week.

I forgot to mention on top, that Friday I went to Bunco and had a blast. I love my bunco babes.

My parents are coming this year for Thanksgiving, this is the first time since I have lived here. We have not told the kids and they will be uber excited when they get up in the morning to find nana and papa here. Cannot wait!!!

Doctors appt and surgery ahead

Kaelis went for her 2 months check up today.  She weighs 11 pounds and she is 22 inches long.
 A couple weeks ago we noticed a bump above her eye. It was a little bruised so we thought she got something dropped on her head, but could not figure out when because she did not cry her hurt cry.
 We also noticed a red mark on her eye lid. I had Ryan ask the doctor about it and it was not a bump from something dropping on her eye. She has a hemangioma birthmark on top of  her eye and it is also on the inside above her eyebrow. We are going to a dermatolgist in the next couple days because if it continues to grow and her eyelid starts to cover the pupil it could cause blindness.
 We are 100% sure she will have to have it removed within a few weeks because of the rapid growth. If it continues to grow fast, surgery should be within the next week or so.
  I just want to say I do not do well with surgery, whether it is mine or someone I care for. It scares me to death,so I am a little worried,but I know everything will be ok.
  I am not sure what it is with these little girls. Cadence had to hae a helmet on for 4 months and now Kaelis has to have surgery.
  I know God will protect her and I know he knows things will go like they are suppose to.

See the bump on her left eyebrow? It looks like other one has one,but it does not.

Please pray for a speedy solution and a smooth procedure if needed. She is a strong little princess,so I know she will be great!!

2 Months

Kaelis is 2 months old.
 You are smiling now and cooing and sometimes we can get a little giggle.
You only get up 2 times a night and are eating every 21/2 to 3 hours. You are taking 3 naps a day usually,but you sure have your wide awake moments. You love tummy time and sometimes fall asleep while having tummy time.
 You have bought so much completed joy to our family and your smiles melt our hearts. Your brother and sister love you and always want to hold you and give you kisses. They are also a great help.
 We love you princess!! You go to the doctor today so I am anxious to hear how much you weigh and how much you have growen, however I am not looking forward to the 4 shots you are going to get. Uggg!

5Q Friday

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?

 Boy, I am not sure. I will say this though, I do not like when they remix a song to another tune or beat. That messes it all up. I think I loath any song that they do that to. Just keep it the same.






2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?

 LOL!  on opposite sides most of the time. He stays up later than I do so by the time he comes to bed, I have been sleeping for awhile. We also have a little girl that comes into our bed sometimes and places herself right smack dab in the middle, so cuddling will not happen. We just cuddle with her.
  He also gets hot at night and apparently my warm body just makes him warmer, but warms me up.




3. Have you ever had surgery?

  The only surgery I have had is my wisdom teeth taken out. I have been lucky in that department. Surgery and going under scares the heck out of me.






4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?

   Whenever I get done. Usually in the first half of Dec. Last year I had it finished the day after Thanksgiving,but this year I am doing a lot of online shopping so I am getting finished quicker. I do not like to wait until the last min because I worry I will not find the right presents or the store will not have it in stock.







5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?

Gosh, I know this may be pretty lame,but I would hire somebody to my laundry all the time. I mean, sort it wash it dry it and put it away. I am thinking I have so much laundry to do right now that  hiring someone would be a luxury for me. I would pay top dollar to make this happen.  The luxury part is I would sit and get a massage while my laundry was getting done!

christmas cards

It is getting to be that time a year again for christmas cards and I love picking my favorites. I order mine every year from shutterfly. You can order some here.

I love all the designs Shutterfly offers. I always order the flat photo cards. I just like the look of the stationary cards. The photo cards also have alot to choose from as well.  I have also wall calenders as well. My family lives out of town so they look forward to getting a calender of  all the happenings during the year. I also am working on a couple of photo books and have made one. I love these because I can put all my favorites in a book to always look at or give as a book. I like the way Shutterfly is so user friendly and orders are delivered pretty quick.

I look forward to picking out my Christmas

Five question Friday

. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?


Giving birth to all my 3 children without drugs. I felt everything and I am not going to lie, IT HURT!!! I did not do this by choice. I have really fast labor and deliveries and I had no time for an epidural. Never again. It was all worth it when I hold them for the first time.




2. How much sleep do you get at night?



not enough. between  6 or 7hours. I have been trying to go to bed earlier since I get up with a 7 week old during the  night.


3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?



You know, I cannot remember the exact age. I would say when I was in 4th grade or somewhere around there.  I wish I would have found out later.  it kinda takes the fun out of it.


4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?



Toy Story 3. I loath having to pay to watch a movie in a theater. I just wait for it to come out on netflix.

5. What do you wear to bed?



Tank top and pj bottoms or a tshirt and shorts. Need to be comfy.

ATTITUDE......

The longer I live,the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.





I found this quote at Ryan's work and love it. it is so true.. I have this in my phone so I can always look at and it will posted througout my house.






Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past,than education,than money,than circumstances,than failures,than sucesses,than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance.than giftedness or skill. It will break a company... a church... a home.







The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have,and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to this.







And so it is you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Wordless Wednesday

weekend

I hope everybody had a great weekend. We had a great one,just busy like always. I cannot remember the last time we had nothing to do on a Sat. Now that are holidays are here, it will not slow down.
 We traveled to Columbia this weekend to celebrate our neices birthdays.They were born 2 years apart,but their birthdays are a day apart.
  Delaney turned 5 and she had a princess party. It was alot of fun. Belle showed up and it was fun seeing everybody just stop in their tracks when she walked in the door. All the girls got manicures and their hair done. The party was my sister in law's friend's Salon.
  After that party was Ryley's who turned 3 and she had a Dora party and Dora showed up to her party.
  That was fun as well.
\ We all went out to dinner and then headed home. Sunday we went to church and then came home and relaxed as much as we can.
  That was our weekend.

5Q Friday

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?

 Sewing and making things and metal work. ( engraving) I have always wanted to do this,but I always get frustrated and give up. I would love to do it though.

2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
Beach for sure.

3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?

We found all kids name online or a movie. The have the K sound and 2 are spelled with K and on with a C which I regret not spelling with a K,but oh well. They are all uncommon names,but one is becoming more common. We liked the flow of them.

4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!)
Right now it is reality tv. I am a sucker for them. Certain ones I cannot stand,but most of them are on TLC. I watch alot of them. It is like therapy to me for some reason. Do I need help? Nah!

 5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?

LOL! I clean as deep as I can. I have 3 kids and one is a 6 week old and I work full time out of the house. When I find the time I will,but  I always try to keep it straightend,but with 3 kids it is almost impossiabe to keep it clean all the time. We made a rule that no toys are allowed in living room, Only in playroom or in their rooms, I always try to have my house clean. Especially my kitchen. Very anal about that. I a lucky if I make all the beds that day.

6 weeks

Kaelis is 6 weeks already. I cannot believe it. We got a "Real smile" today. LOVE IT!!  Sorry about the fuzziness on the picture. of course our camera breaks right before the holidays, so I have to use my phone. Boo. Am looking for a camera that is resonable priced and can take videos. Is that realistic. Need one soon!!
